Look At These Zombie Slippers From PARANORMAN

I love them so much.

Focus Features is really pulling out all the stops on the marketing for ParaNorman. I loved the footage I saw at Comic-Con, and I'm super intrigued to see the stop-motion zombie movie described as "John Carpenter meets John Hughes."

And look! They sent me Norman's kick-ass zombie slippers! Also his zombie toothbrush - you can see both in this Norman figure.

I love the weird sense of humor displayed in the footage I saw, and I think the slippers and toothbrush are a pretty good example of that. I interviewed the directors at SDCC and I'll post that footage a little closer to the movie's release date (August 17). I can't wait!

  • The Zombie Side of Sears

Once upon a time zombies were featured in semi-underground, unrated movies that only the die hards saw. Now they’re being used to sell clothes at Sears. Sears has a ‘zombified’ version of their website up right now (for Halloween) and it’s actually pretty cool, to be honest. I mean, sure, zombies have lost all their bite once Sears - SEARS! - is rebranding their website with the shuffling undead in mind, but they did a good job. And maybe the argument to be made here isn’t that our beloved cannibal dead have been coopted by the system but rather that the system has been devoured by the unliving.
