For its 20th anniversary, Steven Spielberg's seminal Jurassic Park will be re-released to theaters in three water-shaking dimensions on April 5, 2013. They'll release a brand new trailer for the anniversary tomorrow, and even though a post-converted 3D release isn't exactly what we around here like to call "cool," just the very idea of a new Jurassic Park trailer - not to mention the chance to see it again on the big screen - is thrilling. This film destroyed me when I was a kid. It made me realize what movies could feel like, how they could make me feel, how they could stay with me for days after I left the theater. I saw it a half dozen times on the big screen, but I'll never forget that first experience.
And so while the 3D is totally unnecessary and I would have been so happy with a simple re-release, my ass will be in a seat on April 5, you can be sure of that.
Check back tomorrow so we can all squeal and clap at the trailer together!
