I love Miami Connection. This bizarre bit of outsider art from 1987 has been rescued from obscurity by Drafthouse Films, and they're putting the film on big screens across the country this weekend. But what if Miami Connection had been a hit the first time around? Might it have spawned action figures? Drafthouse has come up with these faux figures, in authentic 1980s style, as an exercise in imagination. And while they don't really exist, maybe if Miami Connection finally becomes the box office and award season sensation it deserves we can end up owning real versions.
