Joss Whedon’s MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING Trailer

Joss Whedon's low-budget Shakespeare adaptation gets a jazzy trailer.

How weird is the world? Within my lifetime a Shakespeare adaptation starring mostly people from beloved geek TV shows would have been something only occuring in the small ballroom at your local convention (JupiterCon Raleigh presents Hamlet, featuring the cast of Space 1999!). Now it's a major movie premiering at one of the country's biggest film festivals.

The movie is Joss Whedon's Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, and the first trailer has dropped. It's black and white and has jazz over it, and it's totally arty. I really appreciate that Whedon is going to expose his fanbase to something like this - it seems exactly like the coolest thing one can do with their cultural cachet.

Am I the only one who watches this trailer and thinks it looks more than a little influenced by Jennifer Jason Leigh's The Anniversary Party? Maybe I'm one of the only people who saw that one.
