Take one part The X-Files, add in one part Washington Irving, mix in some shitty fish-out-of-water time travel stuff, steep in the deep talentlessness of Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman and you will get Sleepy Hollow, the new Fox TV series. Which will probably make it to five seasons while the shows you actually like get canceled after six episodes.
The premise: Ichabod Crane, a soldier who answers to General George Washington in the American Revolution, ends up in the 21st century along with the headless body of a Redcoat he was sent to kill. This Headless Horseman is part of a big conspiracy of occult something or other.... I don't know, I didn't even make it to the end of the trailer.
I will give the show this: it has a will-they-won't-they relationship between a black lady and a white guy, which is progressive. The rest of the show appears to be progressively horrible.
