When Bryan Singer tweeted the announcement of a 2016 X-Men film called X-Men: Apocalypse, 9 out of 10 readers probably assumed he was going to direct the movie rather than just say it out loud for the heck of it. Guess what! You smart folks were right. The one person out of every ten who thought someone else was directing needs to get with the program. Jeez.
Today Vulture, a bird, confirmed that Singer would, in fact, be the film's director. But there's more. Apparently (and this probably won't be news to those who read a recently spread and very spoilery tidbit on how Days of Future Past ends), the film will focus on the First Class group of X-Men instead of the older, mostly dead group Bryan Singer invented.
So I hope you like two things: Bryan Singer's X-Men films, and First Class, because from now on they are kind of one and the same. Luckily, you don't have to like Brett Ratner's entry for this new harmony to survive.
