Last week, Marvel released a new line of character posters for James Gunn's upcoming Guardians of The Galaxy, a move which signaled our passing into the "Daily Reminders" phase of the film's promotional campaign (the posters were alright, I suppose, but if you really want to see some cool GotG art/posters, you should just follow @JamesGunn on Twitter). As excited as I am for the film, the character posters didn't do much for me.
This new international trailer, though? Definitely doing it for me.
The clip features a ton of new footage (feels like a little more than half of this one is new...or, at the very least, is comprised from footage I've never seen), including footage of a young Star Lord during his time on Earth, a bunch of new Rocket Raccoon footage (really love the exchange about the box there at the end), and not a single reprise of the first trailer's now-iconic "Ooga Chaka" moment. If you've been growing bored with the same-y TV spots and similarly-structured trailers of the past few months, this is the Guardians of The Galaxy trailer for you.
What do you guys think? Glad they jettisoned "Hooked on a Feeling"? Like how they're handling Rocket? About ready to tune out all future trailers and ads for this film because you've been sold on the concept from the very beginning and don't want to feel completely burnt out by the time the goddamn thing actually opens in August?
