This Christmas, Michael Fassbender is headlining a video game movie. An Assassin's Creed movie, to be precise. There has never, ever been a great movie based on a video game (don't @ me), but if there's anyone who can pull it off, it's probably Michael Fassbender, working in tandem with Macbeth director Justin Kurrzel.
In anticipation of the film's next big trailer reveal (word on the street is, there may be one attached to Miss Peregrine's Center For Kids Who Can't Read Good), 20th Century Fox has unleashed a handful of brand-new, action-packed Assassin's Creed images, the majority of which are just Michael Fassbender looking at things.
Let's take a look.
Here's Michael Fassbender looking at something while dangling a knife.
Here's Michael Fassbender looking at something while having very dirty fingernails.
Here's Michael Fassbender looking at something while rocking a hoodie.
Here's Michael Fassbender looking at something whilst doing calisthenics.
Here's Michael Fassbender looking at something on the ground.
AS PROMISED, here's Michael Fassbender riding a horse.
And finally, in a shocking twist, here's someone looking at Michael Fassbender.
If you're unfamiliar with the Assassin's Creed game franchise, all you really need to know is that it revolves around two secret societies battling one another through the ages: one of them, a league of assassins, fights for good (mainly by taking out chumps with spring-loaded knife gauntlets and doing parkour); the other fights for, y'know, world domination and other nefarious stuff. There's also a sci-fi twist to the proceedings, but that's probably better left for newbies to discover while watching the film.
Speaking of which, Assassin's Creed arrives on December 21st. How you guys feeling about this one?
