ATX Television Festival in Austin, Texas, is celebrating its sixth season this year. I've been to every season of ATX (follow the coverage here!), and I can't say enough about what a singular festival it is. There's just nothing else like it out there - a festival for and by fans that celebrates the small screen. This isn't a boring industry event - this is for die-hard, impassioned lovers of TV. They've got reunions, screenings, panels, celebrations of series that were canceled too soon and tons of peeks at current and upcoming shows.
Today we get our first announcement of programming for Season 6, and it includes reunions for the beloved '80s shows Designing Women and Northern Exposure. I can't decide which I'm more excited about - I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Southern gal but I'm also a lover of quirky small-town narratives. Guess I'll have to go to both!
Other series announced today: Evening Shade, The Black Donnellys, Hearts Afire and The Middlemen. As always, there are sure to be tons more announcements in comings months, so keep your eyes peeled: follow ATX Television Festival on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, and read more about the fest and get your passes HERE.
