Guy Ritchie's long-gestating and perpetually-bumped King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword has suffered yet another setback: according to Deadline, the film has been bumped from its planned release date in March to May 12th.
For those keeping score at home, this puts King Arthur directly into the path of Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, which opens the weekend before and will likely show no mercy to Ritchie's Charlie Hunnam-led take on the Arthurian legend. One has to assume that Warner Bros., the studio releasing King Arthur, are aware of this. Do with this information what you will.
While we're here, now's as good a time as any to mention that WB's CHiPS, starring Dax Shepard and Michael Peña in the roles that Larry Wilcox and Erik Estrada made famous, has been given King Arthur's previous March 24th release date, where it will do battle with Lionsgate's Power Rangers and Sony's sci-fi thriller, Life.
Alright, that's it, folks. Move along, move along.
