According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is adding yet another superhero movie to its upcoming DCU slate. This time, it's a Nightwing movie, to be directed by The LEGO Batman Movie's Chris McKay and written by The Accountant's Bill Dubuque. This will be McKay's first foray into live-action filmmaking.
In the comics, Nightwing was actually Dick Grayson, who once served as Robin to Batman. While it's true that Robin has not appeared in any of the live-action DCU movies, we did see his blood-stained, Joker-defaced costume hanging in the Batcave in Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman (the consensus seems to be that this costume belonged to Jason Todd, the Robin who was hilariously beaten to death by the Joker back in 1988, during Batman's "Death In The Family" storyline).
Anyway, bottom line is: Nightwing's been added to the DCU slate, has a director and writer, and we know that the Nightwing of the movie will be Dick Grayson. Everything else at this point is speculation, which you are free to engage in in the comments section below.
Stay tuned for Nightwing updates as they become available.
