According to The Hollywood Reporter, The CW has found its Black Lightning in Cress Williams, who previously starred on the network's Hart Of Dixie, a show I'm willing to bet most of the Birth.Movies.Death. crowd is unfamiliar with.
Here's the news:
"The drama, originally developed at Fox but ordered to pilot at CW, revolves around Jefferson Pierce (Williams), who made a choice to hang up his suit and his secret identity years ago, but with a daughter hell-bent on justice and a star student being recruited by a local gang, he’ll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC legend — Black Lightning."
Maybe you're unfamiliar with Cress Williams, maybe you're unfamiliar with Black Lightning, maybe you're casually dismissive of The CW in general. Well, I got news for ya, Jack: The CW's superhero slate has been playing like gangbusters to everyone else, and there's no reason to believe Black Lightning will be any different (especially with Greg Berlanti shepherding it through production).
Anyway, no word on when Black Lightning will go in front of cameras or when it might premiere, but we'll keep you informed as those updates roll in. Please confess to watching Hart Of Dixie in the comments below.
