Netflix Lands Navy SEAL Movie From Tom Hardy And Andrew Dominik

Get ready for a WAR PARTY.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix just dropped seven figures on War Party, a Navy SEAL movie directed by Andrew Dominik (Killing Them Softly, The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford) and starring Tom Hardy.

THR goes on to say:

Dominik will co-write the project with Harrison Query. Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Films, which is already working with Hardy on his FX period drama Taboo, will produce.

Party details are being kept in a supressor but it is described as a being based on true events and centers on real life SEALS. Life rights were part of the deal.

So, a Navy SEAL movie, based on a true story (or several life stories, from the sound of it), from Scott Free Films, Dominik and Hardy? That's something we would very much like to see, so ... y'know, good on Netflix for picking this up.

No further information on when War Party might go in front of cameras, but knowing Netflix we'll just get an email in a few months letting us know that it drops the following Tuesday. Those folks are crafty like that, so stay tuned for updates as they roll in.
