Bad Robot’s New Mystery Project Is A Supernatural WWII Thriller

Place your bets on whether or not it's a CLOVERFIELD movie...now.

Here's some interesting news: according to The Hollywood Reporter, Wyatt Russell (Everybody Wants Some!!, Black Mirror) and Jovan Adepo (Fences) have signed on to co-headline a supernatural WWII thriller from Bad Robot.

Of course the synopsis is mysterious. It's a Bad Robot joint:

They will star as American paratroopers dropped into enemy territory. As the approach their target, a Nazi-occupied village with a German radio tower, they realize that they are a part of something bigger than a simple military operation.

Nothing futher is known about the project, which means we can now feverishly (and, to be clear, recklessly) speculate as to whether or not this is another backdoor Cloverfield sequel. Of course the WWII setting would seem to indicate that it isn't, but come on. They'll find a way if they're determined enough.

THR goes on to note that the as-yet-untitled project will be directed by Julius Avery (Son of a Gun) from a script written by Billy Ray (Captain Phillips) and Mark L. Smith (The Revenant). If you happen to know anything further about this one, don't hesitate to drop us a line. We're as excited as we are curious about this one.
