With just over four months until the film hits theaters, The Dark Tower finally has an official one-sheet. The poster, which hit social media via a number of official channels yesterday (including Stephen King's Twitter feed), is actually pretty great.
Take a look.
So, as you can see, the poster can be viewed in two different directions: as above, with Roland (Idris Elba) and Jake (Tom Taylor) standing at the bottom, or flipped upside-down ...
... with The Man In Black (Matthew McConaughey) and a few of his Taheen minions along the bottom. In either version, a big-ass Dark Tower appears in the negative space on the horizon. Amazingly, some didn't notice this until someone gave the one-sheet the "negative exposure" treatment.
It is, quite frankly, amazing that we're only four months away from this movie and are only just now getting a one-sheet. It's even more amazing that we don't have a trailer (pssst: that may not be the case for much longer). That all involved appear determined to hit that July 28th release date may be the most amazing thing of all.
But let's not get hung up on all that. Let's instead celebrate the fact that The Dark Tower finally got a poster, and that it's actually pretty clever and features zero floating heads. This is a step in the right direction, and for that we say thankee.
What do you guys think?
