According to a new report over at Entertainment Weekly, Sony has again delayed the release of The Dark Tower, moving the film from its most recent July 28th release date to August 4th.
Maybe you're wondering what possible difference a week could make. The answer is: not much difference at all, at least not in a production sense. But that's not what's happening here, anyway.
According to EW:
EW has learned The Dark Tower is indeed abandoning the July 28 date, switching places with Sony’s animated The Emoji Movie.
The studio declined official comment, but one source said it had more to do with giving The Emoji Movie more summertime screening time before school returned to session, and less to do with The Dark Tower, which won’t be as reliant on young viewers.
First of all, we're gonna go ahead and add this to The Emoji Movie's list of crimes. Secondly, how weird is it that The Dark Tower's getting delayed again, but for this reason? And by only a week? It almost feels as though we're being trolled, doesn't it?
Guess we can get the ol' Dark Tower infographic out of storage again.
Hello, old friend. We've missed you.
As of now, The Dark Tower will now arrive on (spins wheel) August 4th.
