EA debuted the full-length trailer for Star Wars: Battlefront II at this weekend's big Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, and holy moly is it pretty.
Check this out.
Not only does Star Wars: Battlefront II look like a million bucks, but it legitimately sounds like it'll provide a more compelling experience than the one we got in the last Battlefront game.
For starters, Battlefront II will include a single-player campaign, something that was sadly missing from the previous title. On top of that, the game's missions will take place across every era of the Star Wars saga, and will feature playable characters from each of those eras (including Kylo Ren and Luke Skywalker).
In addition to that, EA made the interesting choice of making the game's lead character female: players will take on the role of Iden Versio, "an Imperial special forces unit equally lethal on the ground and in space." Yes, that's right, you'll be playing as a female and an Imperial badass.
But, wait: there's more! In addition to a single-player campaign and a unique lead character, Star Wars: Battlefront II will apparently provide players with much more space-based combat than its predecessor (you can see some of it in the trailer above). Fans of LucasArts' dearly-departed X-Wing series will certainly be happy to hear that!
Having played - and been cool on - EA's previous Battlefront game, I'm pretty excited to get my hands on this one. These upgrades all sound great, and I'm particularly excited to find out how the single-player campaign pans out (we were told that it's definitely canon). How about you guys?
Star Wars: Battlefront II arrives on November 17th, just in time to tide you over until The Last Jedi arrives.
