The LA Times has a new photo from Spider-Man: Homecoming today, one wherein our itsy-bitsy hero climbs up a water spout (oh god please kill me and end my suffering), as well as a host of new details about Peter's latest suit.
Let's take a look:
So, here we have Tom Holland's Spider-Man inside a large pipe, rocking the hi-tech suit gifted to him by Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark. According to the Times, this suit includes: a recon drone (actually a detachable chest piece), web wings, explosive web snares (!!!), a GPS tracking system, upgraded web shooters, "expressive eyes" and fabric that contours automatically to Peter Parker's body (backpack not included).
If you're thinking that sounds like a lot of gadgetry for what should be a relatively simple Spider-suit, director Jon Watts has a response:
“There’s actually a precedent for a lot of these ideas in these comics. In the very first issue of Spider-Man, there was one page dedicated to all the different things that Spider-Man can do with his webs. We would always joke about that because there’s web skis, and a web boat, and a web shield.”
