I suppose we shouldn't be too surprised to discover that the first poster for Yorgos Lanthamos' The Killing Of A Sacred Deer is weird. Of course it's weird. This is the director of Dogtooth and The Lobster we're talking about.
But not only is this one-sheet weird, it's great.
That's a great one-sheet. It's a surreal image, to be sure, but I'm willing to bet it's actually telling us quite a bit about the film itself. There's a method to the madness here, in other words, but I'll keep my theories to myself for the time being.
Here. Have this official plot synopsis (via The Playlist) instead:
Steven, a charismatic surgeon, is forced to make an unthinkable sacrifice after his life starts to fall apart, when the behaviour of a teenage boy he has taken under his wing turns sinister.
We were big fans of Lanthamos' The Lobster 'round these parts, so we're super excited to see what he's doing with The Killing Of A Sacred Deer. Film arrives on November 3rd. You guys as excited about this one as we are?
