RIVERDALE Promotes Skeet Ulrich To Series Regular

The Southside Serpent's coming back for more.

Spoilers for Riverdale below.

Riverdale fans who have a thing for the bad dad from the wrong side of the tracks have something to celebrate today! Deadline is reporting that Skeet Ulrich’s FP Jones will be promoted to series regular in Riverdale’s second season.

The show’s first season ended with a tough twist, and we won’t know anything about Fred Andrew’s condition until the show kicks off again later in the year. Ulrich’s promotion does give us a little bit more of an idea on what we can expect for the show’s sophomore year though. FP Jones finished off last season in a cell, and it’s safe to assume he’ll occupy that same space for a little while into the following season, but with Luke Perry’s Fred Andrews laid up (or worse) for the foreseeable future, Jughead and Archie will likely have to turn to a much different father figure.

Skeet Ulrich brings a lot of complicated emotion to a character who is torn between loyalty to his gang and loyalty to his family, which means he’s exactly the type that the CW Network wants involved in their dramas. Joining Ulrich in his promotion to regular next season is Casey Cott, who plays the criminally underused Kevin Keller. Well, underused no more! Welcome to the full-time team, boys!
