A new trailer just dropped for Steven Soderbergh's Logan Lucky, and what can I tell you? This looks like it's going to be one of the year's most entertaining, delightful, breezily-enjoyable movies.
Bask in its awesomeness below:
Soderbergh fans already know my dude is more than capable of pulling off this kind of top-shelf caper comedy (Soderbergh mega-fans know that The Informant! is massively undervalued), but still: it's always a joy to see him operating in this gear. Logan Lucky's got a great cast, a great concept, and looks like it'll be overflowing with snappy, clever dialogue. I've found this summer's offerings to be kinda ehhhh thus far, but this one's gonna keep me going until next month.
Here's the synopsis, if you need it:
"The Logans are a hardscrabble family from the hills of West Virginia, and their clan has been famous for its bad luck for nearly 90 years. But the conniving Jimmy Logan (Channing Tatum) decides its time to turn the family's luck around, and with a little help from his friends, the Redneck Robbers, he plans to steal $14 million from the Charlotte Motor Speedway."
Logan Lucky arrives on August 18th. The Birth.Movies.Death. crew is very excited about it. Where do you folks stand on it?
