Michael Mando Confirms His Secret SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Role

Better call [Spoiler]!

Spider-Man: Homecoming is a week away, and if you don’t want to read any more about it, I guess I wouldn’t blame you. This reveal, courtesy of Better Call Saul and Orphan Black actor Michael Mando doesn’t seem to have a monumental impact on the plot, though it’s a nice little tease of what’s to come for fans of the comics. In case you missed the rumors floating around, consider this your last and final spoiler warning! (Though is it really a spoiler if it comes from the cast?)

Ready?

Okay, here goes.

Ta-da!

Mando plays Mac Gargan, who eventually suits up as Sinister Six alum The Scorpion. Gargan dates all the way back to 1964, so he’s a pretty old school Spider-Man villain. He isn’t actually a Scorpion the same way The Lizard is a giant lizard, though. He’s more analogous to Spidey in that sense, retaining his human appearance while being imbued with scorpion-like abilities and dressing accordingly.

He also goes on to become Venom at one point, though with his appearance in the main MCU alongside Peter Parker, it’s unlikely he’ll ever appear in Sony’s spin-off villain universe, unless plans change for the ninth time this week.
