The First Clip From THE SHAPE OF WATER Swims Into View

Yo, what's Michael Shannon got in that tank?

We're excited to see a lot of movies throughout the back half of 2017 - Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi, Andy Muschietti's It, Denis Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049 - but only a precious few of these films have us as hyped as Guillermo Del Toro's The Shape Of Water.

The film, which just premiered to nearly-universal praise over at the Venice Film Festival, won't get here until December 8th. That's not a terribly long wait, but if you need something to tide you over, be aware that the very first Shape Of Water clip has made its way online, thanks to the good folks at The Playlist.

Let's take a look.

Here we get a look at a handful of the film's performers in action. You've got Michael Shannon's villainous Strickland, Sally Hawkins' mute Elisa, Octavia Spencer's Zelda, and - if you don't blink - Michael Stuhlbarg's Hoffstetler. All of them are going to have a role to play in the story of the creature trapped within that tank, and we're willing to bet a few hearts (and maybe some lab equipment, and some limbs) will be broken along the way.

Stay tuned for more on The Shape Of Water as we continue to approach the film's December 8th release date. While we're waiting: what do you folks make of the clip above? Hyped for this one as we are? And where my Creature From The Black Lagoon fans ("Lagoonies") at? I know y'all lurking.
