Fantastic Fest is almost over, and one of the absolute highlights was Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Killing of a Sacred Deer (read our rather positive review of the picture here). It’s possibly the most focused movie of the Greek director’s career, zeroing in on creating a palpable sense of Kubrickian dread throughout its two-hour runtime.
A24 seems to think so, too, as their latest spot for the movie all but tells you its a horrific, detached journey, complete with a chilling supporting performance from Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk).
Take a look:
Sporting killer central performances from Nicole Kidman and Colin Farrell, The Killing of a Sacred Deer opens October 20 in limited release. Make sure to catch it, as Yanthimos’ absurdist tragedy is sure to be on countless Top Ten lists come January.
