O'Shea Jackson Jr. is having one hell of an early career. After completely killing it (playing his dad, no less) in Straight Outta Compton, Jackson was also the best part of this year's Ingrid Goes West. Baby Ice Cube has charisma and comedic timing for days, and it's going to be incredibly fun to see him keep growing as a performer.
Now, Jackson's looking to sign up with Seth Rogen in Flarsky, a truly bizarre sounding comedy that co-stars Charlize Theron. Check out this logline:
Rogen will play an unemployed journalist named Fred Flarsky, battered by his own misfortune and self-destructive ways, who endeavors to pursue Theron’s character — his childhood crush and babysitter, who now happens to be one of the most powerful and unattainable women on earth.
Icky. Though if anyone can transform something that absolutely wacko sounding in comedy gold, it's Rogen (just look to Observe & Report as the pinnacle of his black humor skills). Jonathan Levine (All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, The Night Before) is directing the script by Dan Sterling (The Interview). No word on what part Jackson would be playing as of yet, but one can only hope that it involves him incessantly clowning on Rogen's loser journalist.
