The first trailer for Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Batman Ninja has arrived, which is good news for anyone who's ever wished to see Batman and Friends (including, but not limited to, the Joker, Alfred, Catwoman, Nightwing and Robin) accidentally travel back in time to duke it out in feudal Japan.
No, really, that appears to be what Batman Ninja is.
Here's some production information, via Coming Soon:
"Directed by Jumpei Mizusaki, Batman Ninja features a screenplay by Kazuki Nakashima with character design by Takashi Okazaki, music by Yugo Kanno, and animation production by Kamikaze Douga. Koichi Yamadera (Dragon Ball Super, Ghost in the Shell) provides the voice of Batman for the original Japanese cast with Wataru Takagi as The Joker, Ai Kakuma as Catwoman, and Rie Kugimiya as Harley Quinn."
Coming Soon goes on to explain that Batman Ninja will hit Japanese movie theaters in 2018, but that a North American release is not yet on the books. I wouldn't worry about that, though: though Batman Ninja looks absolutely insane, there's simply no way this won't eventually arrive on American shores (probably in Blu-ray form and probably with every voice role redubbed in English).
