Last week, we got a brand-new look at Christoper McQuarrie's Mission: Impossible - Fallout, one involving star Tom Cruise making a very ill-advised jump between two buildings. We looked upon that image, had ourselves a nice chuckle, and moved on.
Which brings us to today. We've just laid eyes on the first poster for Skyscraper, a Towering Inferno-style action thriller starring The Rock, and we can't help but have flashbacks to last week's Mission: Impossible shenanigans.
I mean, just look at this.
As was the case with that Mission: Impossible photo, the first Skyscraper poster presents us with an action hero who has a taste for poorly-judged Parkour. There's simply no way The Rock's gonna make that jump (I mean, Jesus, just look at his goddamn trajectory) and, unlike Tom Cruise, The Rock looks like he's gonna hit the pavement from a much greater height. Good luck with all that, The Rock.
In case you're wondering, here's the official Skyscraper plot synopsis:
"Framed and on the run, a former FBI agent must save his family from a blazing fire in the world's tallest building."
Word on the street is, we'll be getting our first look at this one during the Big Game on Sunday. Stay tuned for more on Skyscraper as it becomes available, and be aware that the film will hit theaters on July 13th.
