New INCREDIBLES 2 Trailer Balances Homework With Hero Work

Looks like Pixar's got another homerun on their hands.

Pixar's The Incredibles 2 has been headed our way for some time, but it's only now that we're starting to get a sense of what this long-anticipated sequel will actually be about. For months, the only information we had to go on was a brief plot synopsis ("Elastigirl springs into action to save the day, while Mr. Incredible faces his greatest challenge yet -- taking care of the problems of his three children") and a cast list (which includes just about everyone who lent their voice to the first Incredibles, along with few newcomers).

But today we've got a new trailer, and we know so much more.

So, as promised, looks like Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) will be home raising the kids while Elastigirl (Holly Hunter) goes off to fight the good fight. It also looks like Jack-Jack's got some unexpected tricks up his sleeve, and that we're getting a new villain by the name of The Underminer. We're into all of this, and we're particularly impressed how gorgeous the animation looks here: compare any screenshot from this trailer to a screenshot from the original Incredibles. Oh, what a difference a decade and a half can make.

Stay tuned for more on The Incredibles 2 as we draw ever closer to the film's June 15th release date.
