TERMINATOR Reboot/Sequel/Sidequel Thing Gets New Lead

Mackenzie Davis, we’re all very sorry.

Perhaps it’s appropriate to make sure we’re all up to speed on this wacky new Terminator film that’s supposedly happening. Arnold is in it. Linda Hamilton is in it. James Cameron is creatively involved. Tim Miller is directing. It will supposedly take place after Terminator 2, ignoring the rest of the series like everyone else.

Got it? Okay, now we have one more thing. Mackenzie Davis, of Blade Runner 2049 and The Martian fame, has just been cast to play the film’s lead. In fact, she will be “the face of the rebooted franchise”. That’s pretty much all we know about that, so I hope it was enough to satisfy your surely rabid hunger for Terminator news.

My curiosity for this one currently only goes as far as a synopsis, since I have absolutely no idea how anyone is going forward with this thinking it’s a good idea. But I am also not James Cameron. So we’ll see. As you can tell, I am pretty skeptical, but who knows.

Supposedly, the film will come out July 26, 2019.
