John Cameron Mitchell Goes For Oscar Gold With The RABBIT HOLE Trailer
John Cameron Mitchell is one of the most badass filmmakers of our time. His first movie is the flawless Hedwig and the Angry Inch, an amazing rock musical about a cross dressing singer. His second film was Shortbus, a film you could describe as literally ballsy since it shows graphic sex. It opens with a guy cumming in his own mouth! It’s also a really terrific film.
Now he’s back with Rabbit Hole, a domestic drama that premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. Based on a Pulitzer winning play, the film stars Aaron Eckhart and Nicole Kidman as bereaved parents. What else is it about? I don’t really want to know; all I need to know is that my buddy Scott Weinberg is quoted on the trailer giving effusive praise. And he’s a horror guy!
Rabbit Hole opens December 17th, putting it in the heart of the Oscar race. Fingers crossed for JCM.
