Amazing Vintage Film Features Real Life MAD MEN Making Fun Of Themselves
This video, purportedly made by an ad agency in the 1960s, pokes glorious fun at advertising cliches. Warning: Brief titties.
You could just see some of the goofballs at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce blowing off a little steam by making a funny film to show at the company holiday party. And this would be that film.
Apparently found in the Minneapolis Public Library, this appears to be legitimately vintage, and it’s full of very funny jokes at advertising cliches. I especially love when the little black girl rises behind the perfect white family, only to be shoved away. Assuming this is legit (and it’s the internet, so who knows anymore), this is a pretty great look at the self-awareness of ad men in the 60s.
