Our Daily Trailer: COUNTESS DRACULA

Give us this day our daily trailer! In memory of the recently departed Hammer goddess Ingrid Pitt, let’s revisit one of her most famous films - COUNTESS DRACULA, where she plays an aging crone using the blood of young beauties to stay young!

Today, just as I was preparing the Art of Hammer gallery (which you should check out right here), I learned that Ingrid Pitt had passed away. A wonderful and beautiful actress, Pitt won many a nerd’s heart with her performances in Hammer films, especially The Vampire Lovers and Countess Dracula.

I’m not really into eulogies or obituaries, but sometimes it’s nice to celebrate a person’s work when they pass, so today’s Our Daily Trailer will be Countess Dracula, in which Pitt plays a character based on Elisabeth Bathory, the Blood Countess, who used to bathe in the blood of virgins to stay young. That’s a true story, by the way. Hammer did it a little less true, with Pitt’s Countess Nodosheen actually de-aging with blood. Pitt looks amazing and the trailer is a lot of fun.
