When Pee Wee Met Robocop

Remember that time in 1989 when Pee Wee Herman was on the Oscars, then he got attacked by ED-209 so he flew up over the audience and then Robocop showed up and saved him with his laser gun? Neither did Henri, but this YouTube video NEEDS to have more than 8,334 views.

Good lord, this is amazing.

We were hanging out in the Alamo’s creative offices today working on our package of signature programming for January when Tommy Swenson, our video preshow editor, stumbled on YouTube gold.

He’d been innocently searching for fun bits of Robocop he could use for our Tough Guy Cinema presentation of the Verhoeven classic with live explosions and cap guns in the theater. I was minding my own business, working on a scavenger hunt clue for a private party event, when Tommy turned around and said, simply, “Remember that time in 1989 when Pee Wee Herman was on the Oscars, then he got attacked by ED-209 so he flew up over the audience and then Robocop showed up and saved him with his laser gun?”
