Sam Worthington Loves Shit-Talking His Own Movies

“Oh my last movie? Total shit. But the next one will be great. I swear!” - Sam Worthington in 2009 and 2010. Probably 2011 as well.

It was charming and refreshing when Sam Worthington, interviewed on the set of Clash of the Titans, admitted that Terminator Salvation had problems. ‘I gotta be a bit better when I’m looking through my scripts!’ he said to Hitfix back in the day.

It’s less charming and refreshing when Sam Worthington, interviewed on the set of Man on a Ledge, admits that Clash of the Titans had problems. ‘I just think we can improve on it. I think the first one, we kind of let down some people. And yeah, I totally agree,’ he said to Moviefone this week.

So what movie will Sam be shooting when he admits to the problems of Man on a Ledge?

I like Worthington, and part of what I like about him is the shoot from the hip quality he has in real life (but seems to be unable to bring to his films). Still, there reaches a point where you have to stop talking about how bad your last film was, especially when you’re making a sequel to it. Own the movie. You were in it. You were the big It Boy for 2009/2010. It isn’t like you got tricked into making these films.

So Sam, stop apologizing for your last movies. Just make the next ones better, huh?
