One Big BONE, In Color
Jeff Smith’s Bone is one of the great accomplishments of modern comic book storytelling. Beginning life as a very kiddie-oriented, Carl Barksian tale of three cousins from the town of Boneville, Bone eventually grew into an epic fantasy story of huge scope, emotion and power - while remaining kiddie-friendly.
The entire Bone series has been available in one huge, 1400 page volume for a while; like the series itself that volume is black and white. A few years back Scholastic began doing color reprints of Bone, and now the entire colorized series is being collected into a huge single volume as well.
From the Cartoon Books website:
The technology has finally caught up! Through a combination of sewing and glue, we can make a nearly 1400 page color One Volume Edition that lays flat when open!2011 will be the 20th anniversary of Bone #1, and one of the things we’re doing to celebrate will be putting together the BONE: 20th Anniversary Full Color One Volume Edition. It’s the whole thing in a beautiful hardback book and will include extras. The dimensions: 9 1/4″ x 7″ & the spine is 3″ (very similar to the current black & white paperback) and comes in a slipcase.
There’s no word yet on a price point or a release date. As soon as we know you will too.
