THEY CALL HER ONE EYE (aka THRILLER: A CRUEL PICTURE) is one of the all-time great over the top exploitation films. The trailer only hints at the madness that’s in the movie!
The movie made a big impact on Quentin Tarantino, and serves as one of the main influences on Kill Bill. I’d argue the whole movie is essentially a riff on They Call Her One Eye, and Elle Driver’s character is the most obvious lift.
The American trailer is spectacular, and only hints at the atrocities in the film (for the scene of the girl losing her eye Vibenius used a real corpse and poked out its eye!). What I love in the trailer is the way the slomo stuff is so smoothly cut in. It gives the whole thing an otherworldly quality.
