Move over Brian DePalma; real life trumps thrillers when a politician accidentally takes a picture of a man who is about to kill him.
Here’s a news story that sounds like a plot point from a conspiracy thriller: a Filipino politician who was taking a photo of his family managed to also snap a shot of the man who would, seconds later, kill him. As the man was aiming a gun at his chest. It’s a spooky picture, made spookier by the fact that the family didn’t even hear the gun shot! The picture was taken on New Year’s and the whole area was awash in fireworks; it’s like ending of Blow Out but with a camera instead of a mic.
The politician was killed, but the photo, turned in to the police, helped catch his assassin.
