Schwarzenegger Leaves Politics But May Return To The Movies As A Nazi

The Governator no more, Arnold is looking at scripts. One of them is a WWII adventure where he would play a German soldier.

Actually, that headline is fairly misleading. See, the recently ungovernated Arnold Schwarzenegger is apparently itching to get back into the movie business, and he’s been considering three different projects, one of which is the long gestating On Wings As Eagles, which was written by Braveheart’s Randall Wallace. That one wouldn’t see Arnie as a Nazi but rather as a run of the mill WWII German soldier. I have been told there’s a difference.

Says Arnie: In it I would play an older soldier, who gets the order at the ending of the war to kill a bunch of kids. But he doesn’t do it and get them to safety at the risk of his life and it has all kind of adventure. This script is based on a true story!

That exclamation point isn’t mine - it comes from The Arnold Fans, who translated an Arnie interview at The Austrian Oak doesn’t give a firm timeline on his return to theaters, but does say that it’s imminent. It’s all about the right script and director and… oh, who are we kidding? After all that time in public service Arnie’s gonna need a big payday. Terminator 5 here we come.
