THE HOBBIT Curse? Peter Jackson Hospitalized, Filming Slightly Delayed
The road to making The Hobbit seems to be making the road to defaut Smaug look easy. The film has been delayed, been embroiled in lawsuits, lost Guillermo del Toro, had labor problems in New Zealand, been held captive by the financial collapse of MGM. Now with all hurdles seemingly cleared, Peter Jackson has fallen ill and the start date has been moved back.
The good news is that Jackson is okay; he had emergency surgery for a perforated ulcer (which is actually a pretty big deal), but is doing well and will make a full recovery.
“Sir Peter’s surgery is not expected to impact on his directing commitment to The Hobbit beyond a slight delay to the start of filming,” according to a statement from Wingnut Films.
What’s next for The Hobbit? Will it be smooth sailing from here on out or will the curse strike… AGAIN!!!! *cue thunder*
