ORPHAN Director Jaume Collet-Serra Working On A Dracula Movie

One of the coolest, weirdest directors going could tackle Bram Stoker’s immortal Count.

Tomorrow is the junket for Unknown, the new film from Orphan director Jaume Collet-Serra, and I’m hoping that if someone follows up on this they’ll link back to their old friends at BAD:

Jaume Collet-Serra is attached to a spec script by Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy (the guys who wrote upcoming Captain Blood scifi remake) called Bram Stoker’s Dracula Project. Info is hush hush, but it’s being produced by Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way.

Shipman and McGreevy seem to specialize in ‘off-kilter’ interpretations of familiar stories (they’re also doing that King Arthur origin movie, Pendragon, which has Sylvain White attached to direct), and Collet-Serra is just out of his mind and seems willing to go anywhere, so I’m interested to see what their take on this hoary story is.
