Stallone To Be A Hitman For Wayne Kramer (Not From The MC5)

Sylvester Stallone signs on for an action movie with the director of RUNNING SCARED.

Sylvester Stallone is ‘back,’ by which I mean he’s making money at the box office again, even though The Expendables was pretty much trash. But now he’s back from DTV land, and while he’s getting Rambo 5 or Expendables 2 or Oscar 3 (the sequel was released in an alternate universe) together he’s taking a moment to act in a new film from Wayne Kramer.

As the title says it isn’t the Wayne Kramer who was in the MC5 but the Wayne Kramer who made Running Scared, a movie I love, and other films about which I am less enthusiastic. If Kramer is bringing his Running Scared mojo, I’m psyched. If he’s bringing his Crossing Over mojo…

But the film, Headshot, does sound more in line with Running Scared. From the Hollywood Reporter:

In the film, Stallone’s character teams with a young NYPD detective in a high-stakes investigation that leads from the dingy back alleys of New Orleans all the way to the power corridors of Washington, D.C.

The unlikely duo, brought together by two vicious murders, take on all who stand in their way, and are willing to sacrifice everything to exact revenge.

Kramer didn’t write the film, as he did Running Scared. It’ll be interesting to see who gets cast as the younger cop; in many ways this could be a torch passing for a younger actor. Maybe it’ll be Shia LaBeouf.
