James Gunn’s SUPER gets a trailer. Watch it.
“The Lunatic Who Directed Slither” is the actual credit that James Gunn gets on the trailer for his new film, Super.
While the movie has some superficial resemblance to Kick-Ass (which this trailer doesn’t much dispel), it’s a very different movie. Super isn’t about ‘What if superheroes were real’ but more about ‘What if instead of channeling our pain into drugs or booze we channeled it into beating up scumbags.’ It’s an incredibly intriguing, shockingly personal movie hiding under a layer of Troma-style nastiness and silliness.
