I’m about to head to my first SXSW. Looking at the enormity of the festival - which covers film, music and interactive - it’s hard to imagine that this was once a ragtag operation intended to get some cool bands to come to Austin.

Outside Industry: The Story of SXSW is a documentary that traces the history of the festival from its humble beginnings to its current massive status, and it goes into the many bumps on the way. It’s playing SXSW, of course.

We’re proud to host this exclusive clip from the film, which includes the festival founders looking back at the very first SXSW, and has some snippets of the first keynote.
