TV Talk: COMMUNITY and PARKS & REC Renewed!
Two of TV’s best comedies get another year to make the smart people laugh.
There’s great news in the world for fans of good comedy on TV - NBC has finally renewed both Community and Parks and Rec. Neither show has been a ratings powerhouse, but both have been incredibly great this past year, and both have become sort of buzz shows among the cooler kids in the world. You know, me and you.
Supposedly show runner Dan Harmon has a four year plan for Community, and this brings the show within spitting distance of it (although usually shows need to hit five seasons to get quality syndication deals. You need 100 episodes). I couldn’t be happier - Community is the best sitcom since Arrested Development, and I want to see it get a nice (appropriate) life span.
