Since there were only a handful of episodes that ain’t many. But they’re all amazing.
The other day I drew the ire of the internets for examining the question of whether there were any good comedy sequels. I listed The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear as one I liked, but lets’ be honest: The Naked Gun itself is a sequel. It’s a follow-up to the brilliant but short-lived Police Squad!, a series from the ZAZ team who had just done Airplane!. And the reality is that half the jokes in The Naked Gun come right from Police Squad!.
One of the best running gags in Police Squad! was a take on the end-of-episode freeze frame. This video collects all of them for your amusement.
If you haven’t seen Police Squad! you don’t know what you’re missing. It’s one of the most hilarious TV shows that ever aired. A true classic.
