Sometimes Even Cell Phone Ads Can Be Beautiful
Ever have one of those days where you just want to destroy everybody around you? I’m having one of those days. So it’s nice that I got an email from Karrie League containing this lovely video. It’s a little old - it showed up online the day before the Japanese quake - but it’s no less beautiful.
It’s an ad for a phone, but the important thing is that it’s a huge wooden xylophone type instrument, set up in gorgeous Japanese forest, where a rolling wooden ball plays Bach’s Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring. And then at the end it says ‘Touch Wood,’ which is much funnier in English than in Japanese, I assume. Also probably much funnier in the 80s.
Anyway, this video is what I needed today, and I thought maybe you’d like to watch it as well.
