Kings Will Clash In GAME OF THRONES Season 2

The second book of George RR Martin’s A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE will find its way to HBO.

And with just one episode under their belt, HBO has renewed Game of Thrones for a second season. The show’s premiered did okay - over 4 million viewers when counted over multiple airings - but was not a spectacular performer. Still, HBO isn’t just about ratings, and the buzz around the show plus supposedly lucrative foreign pre-sales made a second season a foregone conclusion last week.

This is great news, as there’s some nutty stuff in the second book, A Clash of Kings, and the introduction of some major, major characters. I can’t wait to see who they get to play Melisandre, the sultry red priestess from Asshai. And Brienne of Tarth should make for interesting casting as well. And how will HBO handle The Battle of Blackwater, which is a major naval skirmish?

Meanwhile the premiere of Game of Thrones is on demand and probably still repeating all week long.
