The Next Console Generation Begins in 2013
Kotaku has done some actual investigating and reporting, and they’re saying that the next generation of grown up consoles won’t appear until 2013 (yes, that was a dis on the Wii. Which I own). That means the Xbox 360 will have been around for nine years, and the Playstation 3 for six. That’s a long time for a console generation to hang around.
Nobody knows what the next generation will look like or what the hardware will be like. I guess now is as good a time as any to start wondering if these fuckers will make the new systems backwards compatible with the huge library of games you already own. Will I be able to take my hundreds of Rock Band DLC songs over, or do I have to keep trotting out the 360 if I want to play some Skynyrd?
Nintendo will have a new console in 2012, but it will probably be only useful for playing cartoony games made by Nintendo.
