This Could Be My Favorite GIF Ever
Usually animated gifs are hilarious and crass. But sometimes they’re haunting.
The above image is what Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg call a ‘cinemagraph.’ It’s a beautiful use of the animated gif format, and it’s one of many on display at their site.
Most of their cinemagraphs seem to be variations on ‘model with wind blowing in her hair,’ but their location shots - the window above, a flickering street lamp, a bike alone in the park - are haunting and beautiful.
