The amazing cover, by Bill Sienkiewicz, should be a poster available for purchase. But even beyond that cover, the story is bonkers. It’s a sequel to a previous What If…?, where Conan briefly came to the 20th century. This time, though, he doesn’t travel home and gets stuck. He heads to Times Square, becomes a criminal overlord, wears disco suits, buys a leopard for a pet and eventually fights Captain America. Who invites him to join the Avengers!
What’s cool is that just seeing the cover brought all this back in a rush. I think I’ll bid on that comic myself…
